Diamond Sensors Cable v1.9
This repository contains the source and production files for the Diamond Orb Sensor Cable FPC, as well as schematics and layouts in PDF format for easier viewing.
Note 1: This is an Allspice repository! That means Altium schematics and PCBs can be directly viewed within the repository!
Note 2: To produce a board, the "Fabrication" folder under "Production" should be sent to the board house. Also under "Production", the "Assembly" folder should be sent to the assembly house or SMT line. This folder contains the bill of materials (BOM) and placement information.
Overview
The Sensors Cable connects the mainboard to the various optical sensors (except for the main iris camera, which is mounted futher back inside the Orb and has its own connection to the mainboard).
During assembly, this FPC is folded over itself to position the 1D TOD, 2D TOF and thermal cameras adjacent to the center section and face outwards (the correct folded orientation can be found in the SensorsCable_Layout.PDF which includes a 3D rendering).
On the left image, there are connectors for the 2D TOF sensor (top), thermal camera (middle) and the interface to the mainboard (bottom).
On the right image, the grey block at the top is actually the 1D TOF sensor, which will face the correct way once the FPC is folded. In the middle is the connector for the RGB-IR (face) camera and test points for the 1D ToF sensor.
This is a 1/4/1, 6-layer rigid-flex FPC.
