# Trademarks And Branding
The primary Open 4-in-1 ESC hardware design in this repository is licensed under `CERN-OHL-S-2.0`.
Some bundled third-party assets may carry separate upstream notices. See [THIRD_PARTY.md](THIRD_PARTY.md).
That hardware license does **not** grant permission to use any project names, logos, packaging, product branding, or other source-identifying presentation from this repository in a way that implies official status, endorsement, certification, or authorization.
This means you may:
- make, modify, and sell hardware based on the licensed design files, subject to the repository license
- use factual, non-confusing descriptive statements about compatibility or design origin
This means you may not, without separate written permission:
- present your product as an official or authorized version of this project
- use project logos or branded packaging
- market your product in a way that is likely to confuse customers about who made it, tested it, certified it, or supports it
Examples of descriptive use that are generally acceptable:
- `based on the Open 4-in-1 AM32 ESC design`
- `compatible with the 20x20 Open 4-in-1 AM32 ESC layout`
Any permission to use branding for an official product, reseller arrangement, or certification program is separate from the open hardware license.
