Description is metadata and has no business on the sheet, but 402 of the 689 of them rendered - including the ones that had been filled in by hand, so taking the trouble to write a good description made the schematic uglier. All of them are hidden now, power symbols included. And most of them said nothing at all: 90 "Unpolarized capacitor", 59 "Resistor", 70 empty. The parts list already carries a one-line description of every part - its index - so 286 of them become that, with the slashes turned into spaces: Unpolarized capacitor -> 2.2uF 25V 10% X7R 0603 Resistor -> 33Ω 25V 5% 0201 (empty) -> ABM8 12MHz 30ppm 3225 2.2uF 25V X7R ±10% 0603 -> 2.2uF 25V 10% X7R 0603 Passives take it unconditionally, because for a resistor or a capacitor the index *is* the description. Everything else keeps what it has unless that was empty or one of the library's generic strings: "Dual operational amplifier" and "5-Mbps low-power non inverting photocouple" say more than an index line can, so 63 were left alone. The point is less the one-off tidy than that these are now derived. The same values in the same order everywhere, from a file that is checked against the boards - so when a part changes, the description follows instead of being got right by hand thirty times. One thing goes missing in the trade, and it is the mechanism working rather than failing: two thin-film resistors said "±50ppm/℃" and now say "1% thin-film", because tolerance-over-temperature is not in their index. If that belongs on the sheet the fix is to put it in the index, where it will reach all eighteen symbols at once. Netlists for all seven projects are unchanged, net for net and pin for pin.
