Diamond Orb SD Card Interface v1.5
This repository contains the source and production files for the Diamond Orb SD Card Interface PCB, as well as schematics and layouts in PDF format for easier viewing.
Note 1: This is an Allspice repository! That means Altium schematics and PCBs can be directly viewed within the repository!
Note 2: To produce a board, the "Fabrication" folder under "Production" should be sent to the board house. Also under "Production", the "Assembly" folder should be sent to the assembly house or SMT line. This folder contains the bill of materials (BOM) and placement information.
Overview
This relatively simple board's main funcionality is to provide an accessible SD Express card slot, external connectivity and power. It terminates inside the battery compartment and houses two main features: An adapter chip (RTS5264) for the SD Express to PCIe interface and a connector with Ethernet and USB lines. These are used for wired stationary deployments with a network cable and a fake battery power supply.
In the top image from left to right are the Ethernet / USB connector and the SD card slot (both terminate in the battery compartment), as well as the board edge interface to the mainboard.
This is a 4-layer FR4 PCB.
